Wanderin’ Blues

…or something like that. I have yet to find an apartment to call my own. That’s correct, I have nowhere to live and today was the first day of classes. So many factors have played into my homelessness, none of which I wish to discuss as I don’t want to lament over past misfortunes. Let it simply be said that Lady Luck is not on my side. All this, and I am doing my very best to remain optimistic. I really am trying to remain as positive as can be, and I don’t think I would be able to do this without the help of good music. More specifically, The xx has really made me calm down (yeah, I’ve broken down and cried several times, which is a scary thought- I know). Something about their discordant sound, accompanied by very smooth vocals creates an ethereal feeling. Call me a hipster or what have you, but I like this band very much. I was also informed today that they just received the Mercury Prize (and beat out two of my other favourite artists- Laura Marling and Mumford & Sons), so kudos.

p.s. I waited at my faculty for nearly 2.5 hours just to register for a sixth class and then I had to go through a BILLION different classes just to find one that finally fit my interest/schedule/wasn’t full… if I hadn’t done this, I would not be able to graduate this year!!
